Hello team:
We are are using github enterprise 3.13.5, looking for the suggestion on how to enforce users to create the tags as per matching pattern (and reject unsupported patterns), especially, we want to restrict user to create tag as an example "123-12-12-53-2345" (regex pattern =
/^[a-zA-Z0-9]+(-[a-zA-Z0-9]+){4}$/gm)Which is, we tried below steps :
a.give name in "rulset name"
b. uncheck all
c. check "block force pushes "
d. check "restrict tag names" --> add retriction --> "applies to "tag name" --> requirement "must match a given regex pattern
/[a-zA-Z0-9]+-[a-zA-Z0-9]+-[a-zA-Z0-9]+-[a-zA-Z0-9]+/gmor/^[a-zA-Z0-9]+(-[a-zA-Z0-9]+){4}$/gm)e. save
when tried to create tag, still allows us to create and push the unmatched regex tag to repository. Is there anything else to correct ?
