its the default package manager for windows, it would be way easier to install if the repo would support it.

I submitted it to winget here: microsoft/winget-pkgs#337173

I'm not sure if they'll be able to automatically keep it up to date though because the .exe filename changes with every version, so afaik there's no way to link only the 'latest' version; but that's just a guess on how winget works.

It doesn't matter. We have our own way to keep track on it.

For outdated versions those still download-able, we won't remove them from the repository. We only keep latest version for packages those uses "vanity URL" (a static, never change URL always points to the latest version) for distribution. If they can provide static, version-related URL for a specific version, we might update manifest, switch installer URL to it and keep this outdated version in the repo.

Of course NO. You @leapbtw takes NO responsibility of maintaining the WinGet manifests. They're community contributors' and volunteers' work.

But I would appreciate if you, as the original publisher of this package, take this as one of your official release channel. Then this responsibility might move to you (you can still claim WinGet as an experimental install channel and provides no installation help support, it depends on you).

After the above pull request be merged, you can introduce a GitHub Action called WinGet Releaser to automate further version updates. Once your new version is published, a new manifest will be automatically created and submitted to winget-pkgs waiting for validation and approval.

Without introducing the action, there're 2 automated pipelines maintaining those massive upgrades AFAIK - Dumplings by @SpecterShell and Sundry by @DuckDuckStudio. Can't sure if they're willing to configure a "watchdog" for this package.

thanks for clarifying things a bit for me. Whenever i find the time to get back into uxplay-windows and improve it, i'll also look into this.
