resolves #1080
This PR requires gl-vis/gl-heatmap2d#2 to be merged and published. Big ups @dfcreative !
In brief, while
heamapglwas added as beta in1.10.0it wasn't up to plotly.js standards. With these changes (mainly in gl-vis/gl-heatmap2d#2 ), picking is vastly improved, image generation is now repeatable with no performance cost. That is,heatmapglis capable of plotting1e6points in about 1 second. To note,
heatmapglisn't completely on-par withheatmap. Mainly, zsmooth) roughly equivalent tozsmooth: false. That is,heatmapgraphs do not display bricks! It is meant for large datasets.connectgaps(this would be a great addition when we get the time)xgap/ygapattributes (no need for those asheatmapgldoesn't support brick coloring)
