how to store jobs data in atlantis

If my server restarts only locks data is there but jobs data is not persistent.
If my server restarts also i need jobs data to be persistent how i can achieve that

By default, Atlantis stores jobs data (like plan/apply results and job history) in memory, so it’s lost when the server restarts. Locks data is persistent because it’s stored in the atlantis.db file using BoltDB. However, jobs data can also be persisted if Atlantis is configured to use a persistent data directory—this is where atlantis.db lives and where both locks and jobs data are stored.

To make jobs data persistent, make sure you run Atlantis with the --data-dir flag (or set the ATLANTIS_DATA_DIR environment variable) pointing to a directory that is backed by a persistent volume. For example, in Docker or Kubernetes, mount a persistent volume to this directory. This ensures that both locks and jobs data survive restarts, as they’re both stored in the same BoltDB file in the data directory. If you’re seeing only locks persist, it likely means the data directory isn’t being preserved correctly between restarts, so double-check your volume mounts and configuration.

Atlantis does not currently support persisting jobs data in Redis, S3, or other backends—only the BoltDB file in the data directory is supported for persistence. Making jobs data persistent in other ways would require significant code changes and is not available out of the box (source, source).

Atlantis does not persist jobs data (job logs and the live job list in the UI) across restarts, even if you use a persistent data directory. This data is managed in memory and is always lost when the server or container restarts—only locks and pull request status are stored in the BoltDB file and survive restarts if your volume is set up correctly. This is a known product limitation and would require a major code change to support full jobs data persistence (source, source, source).

If you notice that locks or pull request status are not persisting, double-check that your /atlantis-data directory is actually mapped to a persistent volume on the host. If only the jobs list is missing after restart, this is expected behavior.
